An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Telesales Executive to contribute to profitable sales growth at Yorwaste Ltd.

You will be responsible for supporting our external sales team by sourcing and providing qualified leads, setting up deals over the phone, maintaining good customer relationships and contributing to the overall development of new, profitable business acquisitions in line with corporate goals and objectives.

An effective Telesales Executive must be an excellent communicator and have superior people skills. They must be comfortable presenting products or services over the phone as well as dealing with complaints and objections. The goal is to help the company grow by bringing in customers and developing new business whilst retaining existing customers.

1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

We are looking for an enthusiastic Telesales Executive to contribute to profitable sales growth at Yorwaste Ltd. You will be responsible for supporting our external sales team by sourcing and providing qualified leads, setting up deals over the phone, maintaining good customer relationships and contributing to the overall development of new, profitable business acquisitions in line with corporate goals and objectives.

2. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS & DUTIES:

To comply with all Health & Safety, site permits, environmental and quality requirements of the Company.

Source and prospect targeted new and existing customers within designated areas of North Yorkshire & York in order to support the external sales team in building sustainable pipelines so that the role holder will be able to consistently achieve weekly, monthly and quarterly activity & revenue targets.

The minimum required weekly activity will involve; quotes, contract wins, outbound calls and referrals coming from both new and existing customers.

Cold call and appoint new business customers on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly targeted basis. Direct prospects to the field sales team and support the acquisition process.

Conduct market research to identify selling areas, services and competitor activity to ensure Yorwaste is offering relevant and client focused services.

Complete accurate reports on weekly activity data along with market reviews and report on a monthly basis your sales achievements and financial data. This will involve using and proactively engaging with the companies CRM system.

Work as part of a wider sales and marketing team to actively source prospects through telesales and social media.

Follow the company sales process at all times, ensuring that all paperwork and contracts relating to new customers are completed accurately and within a timely manner.

Contact potential or existing customers to inform them about a product or service with and without scripts.

Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.

Identify and target low earning accounts in order to improve profitability to a level that is acceptable.

Deal with both incoming and outgoing commercial customer queries ensuring all specific customer requirements are met, at all times.

Keep accurate records of all communications and correspondence with customers.

Work closely with the commercial team so that sales are achieved against supply opportunity. Yorwaste is looking to achieve full fleet utilisation and therefore knowing where and what to sell is imperative to both the success of this role but also for the transport function.

Support the customer service team so that they can act as 1st point of contact for Yorwaste transport enquiries making sure that they are fully informed on your customer base and are able to correctly filter sales opportunities, service enquiries etc.

Support and proactively be involved with the customer retention process. Engage with the Sales Manager and or Customer Care Manager once an account has flagged as at risk.
Answer questions about products or the company service offering.

To comply and promote all health & safety, environmental and quality requirements of the group, including completing site risk assessments on all new sites and customers.
Conduct market research to identify selling areas, services and competitor activity to ensure Yorwaste is offering relevant and client focused services.

Establish, improve and innovate on current working practices throughout the post holders’ areas of responsibility.

4. CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:

The post holder will work for Yorwaste and form an active part of the commercial team, to sell and promote all Yorwaste services across primarily North Yorkshire & York but also the wider UK region should opportunities arise. They will have regular contact with employees at all levels across the business in both a formal and informal capacity. The post holder will need to develop key relationships with the Sales and Key Account Manager, the Customer Care Manager and the Service Delivery Manager, as well as the wider Service Delivery Team. These relationships will focus on the service and supply we offer to the current and potential customer base of Yorwaste.

External:

The post holder will have regular contact with our customer base, stakeholders and 3rd party partners including, contractors, regulatory authorities and specialists to support the operational functions and deliver the requirements of the company needs.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

1. Qualifications

• None required but must be competent with use of IT equipment.

2. Knowledge

• Proven experience as telesales representative or other sales/customer service role
• Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quota preferably over the phone
• Good knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g., CRM software) and telephone systems
• Ability to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to prospects
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a team player who can also work autonomously
• Cool-tempered and able to handle rejection
• Outstanding negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints.

3. Skills

A proven background in a busy and successful telesales environment.

Excellent interpersonal and IT skills (use of a CRM system)

An understanding of telesales techniques with a persuasive and hunter mindset.

Strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, being self-motivated and able to use own initiative under minimal supervision.
