About You

As a Recycling Collection Vehicle driver, you will demonstrate great navigational skills, reliably sticking to learned routes on your scheduled rounds. Working alongside a loader, you will share responsibility handling, moving and loading waste units and materials into the vehicle.

You will be a positive and enthusiastic person, able to adapt to operational obstacles that may arise in varying weather conditions. You will understand how to work safely and in accordance with regulation and legislation to be part of a Company that received five stars in the Occupational Health and Safety Audit conducted by the British Safety Council.

You are able to demonstrate great communication skills, speaking regularly with our transport planners and customers to help deliver an efficient and friendly service. You will demonstrate good organisational skills, good management of personal workload and knowledge of keeping to schedules and routes. You may be asked on occasion to help with other routes if required to support the wider team across North Yorkshire.

This is a permanent, full-time role, working 4 days’ out of 7 days – Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday per week, approximately 5am until 5:30pm.

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Category C Drivers Licence with no current or historical driving disqualifications
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

It is desirable that the successful candidate have previous experience operating a Recycling Collection Vehicle, however not essential.
