Salary: £10.10 per hour, plus extra allowances for weekends and bank holidays.

About You

We are currently looking for Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) Operatives to join the teams who safely and effectively run our sites across North Yorkshire. These sites are often open 6 days a week offering essential services for the immediate local communities.

With centres close to you, you can join us and help make a difference to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability in your community for future generations. Currently our sites achieve over 90% recycling rates to help keep North Yorkshire looking beautiful.

You will help maximise the quality and amount of materials separated for recycling, plan and organise the activities on site, be the face of Yorwaste to on site visitors and, where required, deputise for the Area Supervisor.

 

Your Responsibilities

·       Helping the public and customers use the site.

·       Providing a friendly, reliable and professional service.

·       Adhering to, and promoting, high standards of health and safety for yourself, your team and the public.

·       Safely operating equipment and machinery.

·       Working with commercial traders, providing advice and handling payments.

·       Reporting unauthorised waste depositing.

·       Supporting other HWRC teams if required.

 

Qualifications, experience and skills required

We are looking for people who are motivated, have good communication skills and are able to work well as part of a team.  We offer comprehensive on-site training, so all you need is the drive to undertake such training, development or qualifications to benefit your work within this role and the company.

Due to the nature of this role it is essential that the successful candidate hold a current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

  • We offer an hourly rate of £10.10 per hour with £20 additional weekend allowance, and £30 Bank Holiday allowance. This is paid in addition to your hourly rate.
