About You

Are you a positive and self-motivated individual looking for the next step in the world of Finance? We are looking for a leader, with great communication skills and an eye for detail to join our small and friendly finance team here at Yorwaste North Yorkshire.

You will have the opportunity to lead and develop this vital team, sharing your expertise and knowledge, whilst taking ownership and responsibility for payroll processing. Additional involvement in varying projects and their implementation will make this role varied, engaging and rewarding.

You will play an integral part in our operations, working closely with our Human Resources team to execute payroll, maintain responsibility for accounts, enable clear communication throughout the departments, as well as having positive personal motivation to work and use initiative independently. This would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced accountant to build their Management skills as a Team Leader in a small, supportive environment.

In return, we are offering a salary of £31,860 per year, complete with company benefits, discounts and pension, 20 days annual holiday plus bank holiday entitlements, rising to 25 days with 5 years’ service.

This is a permanent role working full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The main office location will be Northallerton, however we do currently operate a hybrid-working model allowing working from home and other office locations as part of your working week.

 

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, it is essential that the successful candidate have;

  • GCSE (grade C or above) in English, Maths and Science
  • AAT Qualification (level 4)
  • Good understanding of financial department operations
  • Knowledge of IT and Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of accounting administration

Desirable characteristics would be understanding of Sage or other payroll systems, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, as well as being able to demonstrate awareness and understanding of current legislative and statutory financial regulations.
