Yorwaste is proud to welcome an Area Supervisor who will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and supervision across the Yorwaste network. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of several North Yorkshire sites, while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates excellent communication and leadership skills, confident building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Your responsibilities will encompass the day-to-day management of staff, including tasks such as scheduling, timesheets, and overseeing holidays and absences. Ensuring our sites consistently meet the highest standards will be a key aspect of your role. This involves conducting regular checks, audits, and promptly reporting any defects; prior experience in this area would be advantageous.

A strong understanding of workplace health and safety is essential for this role. You should be confident and experienced in conducting routine safety observations and taking corrective actions as necessary, in alignment with statutory requirements and company policies.

 

It is essential that the successful candidate have;

  • Experience in a front-line team leadership position.
  • Previous involvement in a customer focused service as part of a multifunctional operations team.
  • Possession of a full UK Driving Licence with no current bans or disqualifications.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Time & Attendance systems.
