We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, Weighbridge Operator / Administrator to join our team.
A position has become available for a Weighbridge Operator / Administrator working at our Tancred Site, Richmond.
Reporting directly to the Area Manager the successful candidate will undertake duties associated with the Weighbridge Operation and deliver key administration tasks for the Area Manager.
The successful candidate must be IT proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
Previous experience of working on a Weighbridge and background knowledge of Environmental Legislation would be an advantage, although full training will be given.
A committed and flexible approach is also required as this is a 7 day operational site and weekend working would be required on a rota. The need to cover other weighbridges throughout the business may be required in instances of holidays and sickness.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide effective and efficient weighbridge operation for the site, whilst also delivering key administration tasks.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS & DUTIES:
To comply with all Health & Safety, site permits, environmental and quality requirements of the company.
Ensure the company waste acceptance procedures are undertaken at all times and appropriate paperwork is available for all incoming and outbound material.
Efficiently input data onto the weighbridge from vehicles collecting and delivering to the site.
Undertake regular company training ensuring appropriate knowledge is available for personal training and development along with operational understanding.
Ensure all appropriate information is collated and forwarded, enabling appropriate KPI’s to be constructed and maintained on an agreed timescale to record and assess all operations information including tonnage and costs.
Attend regular meetings along with all site briefings and toolbox talks.
Ensure all administration work associated with business operations are accurate and delivered in an agreed timescale.
Running of reports from multiple systems and analysing the data to ensure accuracy.
Ensuring all paperwork is stored safely creating a strict paperwork trail for auditing requirements.
Raise a manage purchase orders in line with company policies and procedures.
Liaise with the accounts department to resolve queries.
Ensure all CRM’s are raised, addressed and cleared in a timely manner in line with operational requirements.
Ensure all weekly and monthly financial information is made available and is accurate and on time.
Challenge internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy on information, paperwork or costs.
Ensure customer focus, cost effectiveness and continuous improvement in the delivery of services is maintained and exceeded where possible.
Ensure the housekeeping of facilities are maintained to the highest possible standard during and at the end of the day.
Assist and cover all weighbridge requirements in the absence of any member of the team, including holidays, sickness and occasional weekend cover. This could be at other sites.
Assist the admin team to become multi-functional, in order to provide adequate cover for holidays and sickness.
Support out of hour’s requirements, where appropriate.
Assist in building the weighbridge / admin team to become multi-functional, in order to provide adequate cover for holidays and sickness.
Any other ad-hoc duties as requested.
CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: The post holder will have regular contact with employees at all levels across the business. The contact will be in both formal and informal situations. The post holder will need to develop key relationships with senior managers and all other employees in the business on compliance, training, policies, programmes and projects.
External: The post holder will have regular contact with contractors, regulatory authorities and specialists to support the operational functions and deliver the requirements of the company.
- Previous experience of weighbridge operations would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in the waste sector and associated administrational functions
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, experience of Sage, Fueltek would be beneficial but full training would be given.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and able to use own initiative.
- Ability to work within a team and create a strong team work ethic.
