Salary: £35,000 to £38,580 per year

Contract: Permanent, full-time position

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours’ per week

As the Transport Fleet Manager, your focus will be on ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of our Yorwaste fleet and third-party service agents. This is a role where your exceptional communication skills and ability to build strong relationships within your team and across the wider organisation will see you succeed.

You will be crucial in ensuring that our fleet are fully compliant with all regulations, ever improving our culture of safety and operational excellence. Your support, structure, and guidance will empower our teams to deliver outstanding service while maintaining compliance and operating safely.

Drawing on your expertise in fleet and vehicle leadership, you will make informed decisions regarding vehicle allocation, maintenance schedules, and resource management, ultimately optimising the utilisation of our fleet. Demonstrating excellent organisation and attention to detail, you will oversee the regular maintenance and inspections required to uphold legal and safety requirements, including monitoring MOT, LOLER tests, and Tachograph calibrations.

Based out of our Thirsk Transfer Station, you’ll operate in a hybrid working model, covering the entire county. This includes visiting sites and collaborating with our teams from Scarborough to Skipton, and a company vehicle will be provided to you for work-related purposes only.

 

It is essential that the successful candidate;

  • Hold a current Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Have a thorough understanding of different Large Goods Vehicles (LGV)
  • Demonstrate a high level of Information Technology competency
  • Possess strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Understand current health and safety legislation and requirements
  • Have appreciation, or developing awareness, of the complexities of a multi-functional operation and a diverse and multi-skilled workforce
