Salary: £12.10 per hour (with allowances for Sunday and Bank holiday working)

 

About You

Are you a positive and outgoing individual looking for a new role you can get stuck into, drawing on a wealth of skills and where every day is different? We are looking for a plant operative to join our team who wants a hands on and rewarding job in an industry focused around making our community safer.

Joining us in our Harrogate waste transfer site, you will ensure that all parts of the mobile plant are well maintained, record site information such as hours and fuel, whilst working efficiently for the client and business.

You will be practical, motivated and enthusiastic, working independently on site to ensure a safe and positive working environment. Every day is different, and with sole responsibility when on site, duties can extend from machine servicing, customer service to housekeeping to maintain a clean site.

To succeed in this position, it is essential that the successful candidate have a valid full UK driving licence. Load-all certification will be seen as advantageous, however training can be provided to the successful candidate if required. Desirable characteristics would be knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedure, environmental protection policy and the general waste industry operations.

 

Our Offer

In return we are offering an hourly rate of £12.10 per hour, complete with company benefits, discounts and pension, 20 days annual holiday, plus bank holiday, rising to 25 days with 5 years’ service.

This is a permanent role working full-time, 40 hours per week, working 5 days over 7. There will be an expectation to weekends. The main location will be at our Waste Transfer Station on Claro Road, Harrogate, and will be independent working with this site being single staffed.
