Hours: Working 3 days over 7, approximately 24 hours per week

Join our team at Yorwaste! These new roles are part of our ongoing partnership with North Yorkshire Council, offering a stable and secure position in a well-established company. You will play a key role in helping your community recycle more and waste less. You’ll work outdoors, helping visitors, keeping the site safe, and making sure materials are sorted properly.
Based at our Seamer Carr Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) you will also be required to regularly work at other sites within a reasonable travelling distance as part of your role.

What you’ll do:
- Assist the public and provide great customer service
- Follow health & safety rules and keep the site tidy
- Operate machinery and report any issues
- Use basic IT systems to complete simple reports
- Support your team and step up when needed
What you’ll need:
- A positive and helpful attitude
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with basic IT competency
- Your own personal transport (our sites aren’t accessible by public transport)
- To be comfortable working safely in the outdoors, in all weather conditions

This is a permanent position working 3 days out of 7. As our site operates 6 days a week, including bank holidays (closed on Wednesdays), flexibility in your availability is essential. You will also be expected to cover holidays and sickness, including additional hours and shifts to support this and other local HWRC sites.
