Yorwaste is seeking a skilled Hook Loader Driver to join our team in the Scarborough area. Your experience will help you develop a strong understanding of the ‘roll-on, roll-off’ vehicle you operate and the various container types you handle and transport.
Pay: £15.66 per hour, £39,087.35 per year equivalent at 48 hours per week
Location: Seamer Carr Waste Transfer Station, Eastfield, Scarborough
Contract: Permanent, full-time, approximately 48 hours per week
This role involves working 4 days out of 7 per week, with your usual days of work being Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Working mostly independently, you will manage your personal workload effectively, taking responsibility for carefully and securely loading and unloading containers in accordance with our health and safety practices. Yorwaste is proud to have received five stars in the Occupational Health and Safety Audit conducted by the British Safety Council.
We seek a positive and enthusiastic individual who can adapt to operational challenges, including varying weather conditions. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will coordinate regularly with our transport planners and the wider team to deliver an efficient and friendly service. Occasionally, you may be required to assist at other sites to support the wider team across North Yorkshire.
Essential Qualifications
- Category C Drivers Licence with no current or historical driving disqualifications.
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
