Yorwaste is seeking an individual who takes pride in their work, with great attention to detail, to join the team as a Business Administration Apprentice. You will see yourself as a motivated and focussed person, who takes responsibility for managing your own workload and meeting deadlines.

As a Business Administration Apprentice you will support our Corporate Services Team who buy and sell the materials at Yorwaste. Every day will be different, working between an office and site environment to speak with customers, raise purchase orders, update systems, chase clients and collect paperwork.

You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, re-acting to customers and managers in a fast-paced work environment. You will be able to communicate clearly with people from diverse backgrounds, and we will support you to correctly handle situations of conflict.

It is essential you have;

  • 5 GCSE’s (graded 4-9 / A-C) including Maths and English.
  • Good IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • A UK Drivers Licence and the ability to travel to our sites.
  • The right to work in the UK, and are over the age of 16.

What can you expect?

As a Business Administration Apprentice at Yorwaste you will work towards obtaining a Level 3 in Business Administration. With a course duration of approximately 18 months, you will develop strong communication skills, the ability to prioritise, problem-solve and make decisions in the professional workplace.

We believe in your journey, which is why your employment with Yorwaste is on a permanent basis, with progression to the role of Business Administrator on successful completion of this Apprenticeship period.

  • 1 to 1 teaching and learning sessions with an allocated tutor.
  • Virtual e-learning with face-to-face workshops.
  • Apply learning straight into the workplace to gain practical experience.
