How We Helped
We have suggested that raising the awareness of students can aid Thirsk School in reducing their problems.
School activities such as sticker design competitions, special assemblies and field trips can allow students to gain better knowledge of proper waste disposal and develop proper recycling habits.
Aside from raising awareness, we have also proposed to the School ways to improve the clarity of bin labels and the addition of food bins. It doesn’t only increase the recycling rate but it also saves their waste management cost because it reduces the weight and energy required to dispose of them.
The School has also spent less time in picking litter because of their pupil’s better understanding of the importance of recycling, raising the School’s overall recycling rate.
