Co-Composting

Yorwaste offer a recycling solution for many non-hazardous liquid wastes. We co-compost a wide variety of selected industrial by-products including liquid wastes, sludges, timber by-products and food processing and brewery waste.

Co-composting is the term used to describe the composting of a mixture of materials such as non hazardous wastes with green waste materials to provide a sustainable and cost effective recycling or re-use method for the composted material.

Typical wastes likely to be suitable for co-composting include:

  • Fat Traps
  • Food Waste (No Meats)
  • Bakery/Dairy
  • Brewery
  • Latex & Water
  • Drum Washings
  • Soaps & Shampoos
  • Phosphate Washings
  • Clay Slurry
  • Syrup Solutions / Soft Drinks
  • Sludge's
  • Brewery Waste
  • Biodegradable Liquids
  • Bio Sludge's

Materials are carefully assessed by our technical department for suitability for the composting process. We would then embark upon a short trial period for those materials deemed appropriate.

The length of the trial period would be agreed with our operation & technical personnel.

All materials are carefully selected and must be of a consistent quality. Materials that complete the composting process are used for on-site restoration only.
